Reynolds has a powerful voice, charged with emotion and passion. The best part of this album are the vocals. That isn’t necessarily a negative thing, it just has to do with the style of the band. The lyrics aren’t deep enough to the point that you need to listen to it a million times to understand what the artist is trying to say there is no room for interpretation. The only problem with them being so simple is that it is easy to get tired of a song. On the album, the lyrics are catchy and simplistic, which makes them easy to sing along to. It sounds like two different songs are being played on top of each other. The song starts off with a high pitched synth that doesn’t mix well with the drums. An example of this would be on the song, I Don’t Know Why. In the new album, Imagine Dragons unsuccessfully adds what sounds like synthesizers to their traditional instrumentals.
